Our School vision and values

Our vision and values:

Our school has it's own vision. We work together to create the best learning environment for our pupils to flourish where they are known and loved.

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. They underpin our teaching and learning and provide an environment which prepares our pupils as confident, happy citizens.

Lady Modiford's vision statement is:

Every child matters to God and every child matters to us

The vision is underpinned by the parable of the soils (Mark, 4). We want our pupils to grow in 'fertile soil' where within a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum, they have good opportunities and develop positives attitudes to learning. Whilst the school represents the soil, our pupils represent the seeds and we encourage them to make the best possible choices for themselves, others and the our world.

The Ethos of the Federation

  • As Church of England (VA) Schools, Lady Modiford’s and Meavy encourage the children to follow the principles of Christianity and a Christian lifestyle.
  • The schools encourage each child to realise their full potential by the provision of a caring, ordered and happy environment; an environment conducive to spiritual, moral, cultural, mental and physical development regardless of age, gender, race, creed or exceptional needs.
  • The schools believe that it has a duty to foster qualities of character such as conscientiousness, independence, self-confidence, honesty and consideration for others.
  • We endeavour to keep fair, consistent discipline with positive reinforcement through praise and encouragement.
