PLYMOUTH Argyle Academy Manager Kevin Hodges has presented a kit which has been donated to a school in Tanzania.  Gavin Hamilton’s schools near Yelverton, on the outskirts of Plymouth, have formed a link with Kisamatui School in the East African country, and Hodges said: ‘The Academy was approached some time ago, via our associate director David Tall, to enquire if we could help provide some football shirts or playing kit for a very rural school in East Tanzania.  ‘We were only too happy to oblige, and were able to present a complete strip, previously worn by one of our Academy teams, to the headteacher when he visited Kisimatu’s link schools, Lady Modifords and Meavy CoE Primary.’  ‘Kisitmatu School has very little money, but its pupils are proud to attend school and take pride in their environment. Their headteacher, Mohamed, was thrilled and explained that the village had prepared a football pitch in readiness for the pupils to play their first game in their new kit. They had also managed to save enough to buy a new football.’  Hamilton recalled how humbled he felt after visiting Kisimatui earlier this year, and said he hoped that the link would establish knowledge and understanding between the pupils of both countries.
